Doceri only shows my Mac wallpaper on my iPad, not any icons or programsOver the course of the releases of macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina, and macOS Big Sur, Apple has added progressively more new Security & Privacy settings in an effort to protect their uses from malicious software and other bad actors. The unfortunate side-effect of this is that sometimes they also "protect" you from doing what you are deliberately trying to do. During the install process, as described at the above articles and more generally in the Mac installation instructions, Doceri Desktop will request only the permissions that it needs in order to provide the advertised functionality. For these settings, always select "Allow" or "OK". Selecting "Deny" or "Don't Allow" for any of them will prevent even basic Doceri Desktop functions from working. None of these settings communicate any information to Doceri or SP Controls. If you are seeing only your wallpaper when connecting to Doceri Desktop from your iPad, this indicates that one or more of those necessary permissions was denied or otherwise blocked during installation or upgrade. The most common is Screen Recording, because many people think they won't be doing any screen recording with Doceri, not realizing that displaying their computer screen on their iPad falls under what Apple considers to be screen recording. The Screen Recording privacy setting was introduced with macOS Catalina, and so the instructions both for setting it at install time, and for fixing it if it was not correctly set at install time are illustrated in the article Why won't Doceri record or control my Mac running macOS Catalina (10.15)?
