Why does YouTube upload give a "not verified" message?

YouTube recently changed the app verification process for compliance with GDPR and other initiatives. Doceri has been submitted, and re-submitted, for verification, and we continue to work with Google to get this matter resolved. We contacted them again on 16 March 2020 to expedite the request in response to the pandemic that is forcing schools to transition to remote learning, but they have not yet responded.

We apologize for the inconvenience while we wait for Google to take action on our requests.

In the meantime, there are a variety of other workarounds to get your video to your computer or iPad's library, and then upload to YouTube from there. Using the "up arrow" or "right arrow" export icons, you can:

  • AirDrop the file directly to your computer (if you have a Mac)
  • Email the video to yourself (if it's not too large)
  • Use "Save Video" (bottom left of above image) to send it to your iPad's camera roll, then upload using the YouTube app
  • This requires setting your iPad permissions to grant Doceri access to the Photos folder in the iPad Settings app.
  • Use Messages, Gmail, or whatever other communication apps you have on your iPad to send the video file to yourself
  • Upload the video to Dropbox, Google Drive (pictured below), or another cloud service with an app installed on your iPad, then download the video from that service to your computer

If you are a licensed Doceri user with access to the Doceri Certified Educator Professional Development Course, you can see some of these processes in action in the “Sharing your video recordings” module in Section Seven.

All of these methods take a little more time, and we apologize for the inconvenience, but there is little that our tiny company can do to move Google to accelerate their verification process. We nevertheless hope that this problem will be resolved quickly.
